    Treasurer Wayne Swan delivered his fifth Federal Budget on 8 May 2012, describing Australia as "a beacon of resilience, stability and success". In a Budget focused on families and the ageing, Swan continued to position superannuation as the primary vehicle to plan and save for retirement.     Co-contributions scheme proposed to change for 2012/13 financial year

    The Commonwealth Government has proposed changes to the co-contributions scheme which will see a reduction in entitlements for future financial years. This includes a reduction in the maximum income threshold as well as the maximum amount the government will contribute.
