Unit prices

GESB uses a 'forward unit pricing' system which is a widely adopted standard in the funds management and superannuation industry, and allows us to treat all members fairly. Unit prices are struck each business day based on a previous day's market performance and are determined by calculating the value of the assets in GESB's chosen Investment Plan divided by the total number of units held by all members in the plan. This means that when processing contributions or withdrawals the price used will be calculated after the contribution or withdrawal request is received.

The units change in value as the value of the underlying asset classes in the various Investment Plans, either increases or decreases.

This search function enables you to view the unit price history for all of GESB's Investment Plans and the underlying asset classes in MY Plan.

Simply select your account type and the Investment Plan you are interested in searching from the drop-down menus below. A graphical representation of the selected dates can be found at the bottom of the search results.

Important Note: Since 11 November 2004, the unit prices have been calculated on a daily basis; previously unit prices were calculated on a weekly basis.

Warning: It should be kept in mind that historical performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Please note:

  • Weekday unit prices will be posted on the second business day after the day.
  • Weekend unit prices will be posted on the third business day after the weekend.
  •  The unit prices shown for Global Fixed Interest for the period prior to 1 May 2008, relate to the Australian Fixed Interest asset class (which is now closed).
