Use our super calculators to help your planning

Making sense of your super means knowing how much money you could have when you retire - and what you can do until then to make sure you end up with enough to meet your needs.

Our suite of superannuation calculators has been designed to do just that, and will start by asking you about all the factors which are likely to influence the way your super grows in the coming years; such as:

  • your current salary
  • salary sacrifice contributions you make or could make in the future
  • the amount you've already invested in your super
  • any extra contributions you currently make - or think you could make in the future

Once you've given the super calculators the information they need, they will estimate how much your super will be worth in today's dollars. You'll then be able to print the results.

The super calculators are provided for illustrative purposes only to show how different factors can affect the value of superannuation benefits.  They are designed as stand-alone tools and should not be used to compare GESB's taxed and untaxed funds.  Different assumptions are used in each calculator to reflect the differences between the funds, particularly in respect of when tax is paid on contributions and earnings.  GESB recommends that you consult a suitably qualified adviser before making any decisions.

Please note: some calculators will be temporarily unavailable as they are currently being updated. These calculators should be available again soon.

Calculator / Tool  Why use it?
Super Calculator - Taxed

If you have a taxed fund such as GESB Super, this calculator will work out how much you could have when you retire - and compare it with how much you might actually need. You can adjust the variables to see how they might affect the outcome.

Super Calculator - Untaxed

If you have an untaxed fund on the other hand; such as West State Super, use this calculator instead.

Gold State Super Calculator

This calculator is for Gold State Super account holders. It shows how your defined benefit will grow, and lets you adjust variables such as retirement age and final salary to see how simple changes can affect the result.

Co-contributions Calculator

This calculator lets you find out whether you're entitled to receive a co-contribution payment from the Commonwealth Government. If you are, it gives you an idea of the maximum payment you could expect.

Contribution Scenario Calculator - Taxed Fund

This calculator lets you see how different types of contributions you make to a taxed super fund (such as GESB Super) could affect how much money you have when you retire. For example, it compares salary sacrifice contributions to those made from after-tax income.

Risk Profile Calculator

This calculator works out the kind of investor you are based on your investment timeframe, expected returns and your tolerance to market fluctuations.

Insurance Gap Calculator

Here you can work out whether you have enough death and disability cover, and if not, how much it would cost you to buy extra cover within GESB Super or West State Super.

Budget Planner Calculator

This calculator helps you to budget. One of its features is the ability to work out whether you have any additional income which you could contribute to super.

How much will you need? Calculator

Try this calculator to work out how much you will need to have saved by the time you retire in order to be sure there is no drop in your standard of living. You'll most likely use it alongside the Super Calculator to work out what you need to do to ensure your retirement income meets your needs and expectations.
