    The alliance with HSBC been available from 21 May 2007.   GESB's commitment to delivering better services to members was the driving force behind the new alliance.

    This alliance means that members of funds managed by GESB receive discounts on interest rates and reduced fees on a broad range of banking products and services.  HSBC offers the choice of two tailored banking packages and other stand alone products.

    HSBC provide a dedicated contact centre, website and local relationship managers based in Perth.

    HSBC will offer you a choice of two tailored banking packages and other standalone products (e.g. credit cards), where you can receive discounts on interest rates and reduced fees, including:

    • No package fees, saving you up to $420 every year*
    • Up to 0.75%pa discount on selected HSBC owner-occupied home loans*
    • 0.10%pa discount on 3, 4 and 5 year fixed rate home loans*
    • 50% discount on your home loan establishment fee*
    • Discounted interest rates and no annual fee on  the HSBC Classic Visa credit card*
    • Reduced rates on personal loans and car loans*
    • Higher rates on term deposits *
    • Access to a dedicated contact centre for GESB members.

    * To qualify for the banking packages and products, you will need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria.  Full terms and conditions, fees and charges are available from HSBC.
    Note that rates and discounts shown above are current as at 9/06/08 and are subject to change.

  • Who can access the HSBC offer?

    The HSBC offer is available to all current members of funds managed by GESB. Your entitlement to the discounted rates and reduced fees ends when you close your GESB account/s.

  • What is the impact if I have an existing Members Equity product?

    Some GESB members have existing products with Members Equity, but there is no impact for them.

    Some GESB members have existing products with Members Equity, but there is no impact for them:

    • GESB members with existing Members Equity products will remain eligible for the discounted rates offered to members of eligible superannuation funds. They will remain eligible for the discounted rates while they retain their membership with Members Equity
    • GESB has agreed with Members Equity to an 18 month grace period commencing from 15 March 2007.  During this period, members who are in the process of having their application assessed or who are yet to draw down the value of their loan (e.g. if the member is constructing a home) will be given sufficient time to complete these arrangements.
