Under the supervision of the Investment Team, GESB employs a diversified group of external investment managers to invest your funds. Our investment managers are selected and appointed for their expertise in a particular asset class and their ability in active security selection or in replicating the performance of a particular index. GESB typically employs multiple investment managers in each asset class so as to mitigate the risk of having a concentrated exposure to a particular investment manager or a particular investment style.

All external investment managers are closely monitored and reviewed regularly to ensure they are adhering to our investment guidelines, delivering on risk and return objectives and maintaining a consistent investment process. Therefore, where circumstances dictate, we may occasionally make changes to our external investment manager line-up.

GESB's has a number of experienced external investment managers across the following asset classes:

AMP Capital Investors Ltd - AMP Capital Investors is mandated by GESB to manage a passive portfolio of Australian inflation linked bonds and two active Australian equity portfolios, including a socially responsible strategy.

Aberdeen Asset Management (Australia) Limited - Aberdeen is mandated to manage active portfolios of Australian fixed interest and inflation linked securities.

 PIMCO Australia Pty Ltd (PIMCO) - PIMCO is mandated to manage an active portfolio of global bonds.

UBS Global Asset Management (Australia) Ltd - UBS Global Asset Management is mandated to manage an active portfolio of Australian fixed interest securities.

Wellington Management Company, LLP - Wellington Management is mandated to manage an active portfolio of global bonds.
