• Initial consultation - This is a free service where you'll meet with a GESB financial adviser to discuss your financial goals and assess your situation. Your adviser will explain the process involved in preparing your Statement of Advice, which is a personalised financial plan to help you reach your goals.
• Statement of Advice - Your adviser will assess your requirements and determine a fee for preparing the Statement of Advice. The fee will be discussed during your initial consultation and confirmed with you in writing to check that you're happy to proceed. A portion of this fee may be deducted from your GESB account. Once the statement has been prepared, your adviser will meet with you to discuss how to implement the recommendations.
• Wealth check - This is an extra service you can choose to use. You'll have regular contact with your GESB financial adviser, who will help you keep your financial plan aligned with your changing lifestyle and financial goals. This service is charged separately, and you may be eligible to have the fee deducted from your GESB account.

No hidden costs or commissions

Some financial advisers accept commissions for recommending a certain product. They are allowed to do this (as long as you are aware of it) but it may influence the advice they provide, or mean that they suggest certain products to earn commissions.
