Seminars and briefings

As an employer, your employees depend on you for superannuation advice including information on employer contributions, salary sacrificing and rolling over super. To help you to make sense of super, we offer a range of superannuation seminars, presentations, briefings and forums - these can be coordinated through your Key Account Manager. The superannuation seminars listed below are co-ordinated by your Employer Services team.  Simply contact your Key Account Manager for further information.

  • Executive and senior management presentations - GESB's Key Account Managers are available to visit your workplace to brief executive and senior management teams on key strategic employer superannuation issues - including the strategic value of super in attracting and retaining your staff.
  • Employer briefings - Held at our Central Park premises, these briefings are designed for operational HR and payroll staff to help make sense of superannuation reporting obligations and other super related operational payroll issues.
  • Employer forums - Held at our Central Park premises, employer forums are designed to provide HR managers and executives with an overview of super and related issues.
  • Westlink Satellite Network - Not able to make it to a seminar?  Let the seminar come to you!  Approximately twice a year our Employer Services team hosts a member education seminar which is beamed via satellite throughout the State. Most regional schools, other government sites and telecentres are able to access a Westlink Satellite Telecast.  For more information, simply visit http://www.westlink.wa.gov.au/.

Here is what some participants said about previous presentations:

"My staff and I found the program very useful. Even experienced staff who I assumed use financial advisors learnt something. For our younger staff, this was their first exposure to super for most and they got a lot out of it.  The program was very well presented and pitched at an appropriate level."
Fiona Yeats, Principal Bruce Rock District High School

"Everybody, from administration through to support team members, commented upon how important it had been to view the program as it had contained information that we, as GESB members needed to hear about our superannuation. We felt the program was as relevant to those beginning with teaching as it was to those of us considering our looming retirement options. Well done and thanks for providing the opportunity."
Noel Morgan, Principal Leinster Primary School

  • Video conferencing - Two or more locations can interact simultaneously using video and audio technologies, so video conferencing is ideal for educational seminars. Throughout regional areas, video conferencing is available through the network of telecommunication centres and some government agencies.  For more information, simply visit http://www.westlink.wa.gov.au/.
  • Workplace seminars - We have a range of seminars available that can be presented to your employees at your workplace. Our Member Education Consultants can even tailor the content to suit you and your workforce. We're also are committed to servicing GESB members in regional areas, so each year we visit major regional centres to present superannuation seminars.  For regional areas that we are not able to travel to, our Member Education Consultants can arrange video conferencing seminars.

  • Retirement planning seminars - These are held at our Central Park premises regularly and are provided free of charge.
