In April 2010, the WA Treasurer announced a revised Western Australian Government policy position on public sector superannuation.

New State Government policy will see the introduction of Choice of Fund for the WA public sector and Cabinet has reversed the decision to mutualise GESB.  This new policy position will require the passing of new legislation and will take some time to implement.

The new policy position will also see significant changes to GESB.  Cabinet has approved the following 18 recommendations for implementation.
